Ode to Helios

Long ago in the arid lands of the West

Conflicts stirred and put the weak to rest

The people fought, fought as they might

But far they were, away from the light

Then Helios came to appease the fire

Their devouring rage and blazing ire

He quenched them, down with his tears

‘Till woes and pleas ceased in here

Through his deeds, the people learnt of his power

Sharing his cause, no danger could make them cower

But still, the thirst of battle remained

Like a curse that hath kept them restrained

So he channeled their fury into passion

To be the peaceful land he envisioned

Welcome to a powerful, unrivaled nation

Borne in Helios’ ultimate salvation
